The DG NACA pays a courtesy visit to Ministry of Health (Oyo State)

Abuja, Nigeria – May 2, 2024

On April 30th, 2024, the Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Dr. Temitope Ilori, led a delegation to Oyo State Ministry of Health. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration with the Ministry and other stakeholders in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The DG NACA was accompanied by a team of officials including Dr. Olukayode Ogunkunle, Project Manager, Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (OYSACA), Dr. Olalere Olajide, Head of Office, Oyo Region, APIN Public Health Initiatives, the NACA media team led by Mrs. Toyin Aderibigbe, Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, NACA, Mr. Shola Idris, Chief Communication Officer, NACA and Mr. Biodun Alabi, Principal System Analyst, NACA (Website and Social Media Management). 

The delegation met with key health officials at the Oyo State Ministry of Health. The meeting served as a platform to discuss progress made in the state’s HIV/AIDS response and explore avenues for further collaboration.

Media representatives from prominent outlets such as The Nation, Punch, The Tribune, and Premium Times were present during the visit. This engagement with the media ensured transparency and fostered public awareness about NACA’s collaborative efforts with Oyo State in tackling HIV/AIDS.

The meeting concluded with a productive question-and-answer session, where media personnel had the opportunity to engage with stakeholders on crucial topics related to HIV/AIDS control.

This visit underscores NACA’s unwavering commitment to working alongside states like Oyo, which have demonstrated progress in combating the spread of HIV/AIDS. NACA remains dedicated to supporting state-level initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve a future free of HIV/AIDS.
