Duration: 20 MONTHS
Job Summary
The Finance Officers would be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the grant. Finance Officers play a critical role in maintaining financial stability, transparency, and efficiency within the grant implementation an organization and ensure financial objectives are aligned with grant goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions such as invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and monitoring financial performance against budgets.
- Preparing financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into the grant’s financial health and performance.
- Managing invoices, processing payments, and ensuring timely collection of receivables.
- Conducting regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and other financial records.
- Ensuring compliance with GoN and GF relevant financial regulations, laws, and internal policies.
- Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinating with internal or external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
- Monitoring cash flow and optimizing the use of funds to meet operational needs while maximizing returns.
- Advising the MLSD on financial matters, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications, Experience and skills
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/Audit
- Minimum of 5 years post NYSC experience in finance/ accounting function
- ICAN or equivalent degree (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CFE, etc.) is an added advantage
- Experience with Budget and financial reporting
- Previous experience working on a Global Fund funded project will be an added advantage
- Thorough knowledge and proven experience in accounting and finance
- Excellent experience with Microsoft Packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work well with people.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure.
