Job Title: FINANCE OFFICERS (x2)

Location: ABUJA

Duration: 20 MONTHS

Job Summary

The Finance Officers would be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the grant. Finance Officers play a critical role in maintaining financial stability, transparency, and efficiency within the grant implementation an organization and ensure financial objectives are aligned with grant goals and objectives. 

Key responsibilities

 

  1. Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions such as invoices, receipts, and payments.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and monitoring financial performance against budgets.
  3. Preparing financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into the grant’s financial health and performance.
  4. Managing invoices, processing payments, and ensuring timely collection of receivables.
  5. Conducting regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and other financial records.
  6. Ensuring compliance with GoN and GF relevant financial regulations, laws, and internal policies.
  7. Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
  8. Coordinating with internal or external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
  9. Monitoring cash flow and optimizing the use of funds to meet operational needs while maximizing returns.
  10. Advising the MLSD on financial matters, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.

 

Qualifications, Experience and skills

  1. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/Audit
  2. Minimum of 5 years post NYSC experience in finance/ accounting function
  3. ICAN or equivalent degree (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CFE, etc.) is an added advantage
  4. Experience with Budget and financial reporting
  5. Previous experience working on a Global Fund funded project will be an added advantage
  6. Thorough knowledge and proven experience in accounting and finance
  7. Excellent experience with Microsoft Packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work well with people.
  9. Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure.
