Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR) pays courtesy visit to DG NACA

The Director General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Dr. Dasuki Arabi, and his management team on Wednesday 12th March, 2025 paid a courtesy visit  to the Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Dr. Temitope Ilori. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and enhance mutual understanding between the two agencies. The courtesy visit was part of Dr. Arabi’s efforts to familiarize himself with key stakeholders in the public service sector, particularly agencies working towards national development and public health improvements. Given NACA’s critical role in controlling and mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, the visit provided an opportunity to explore areas of synergy between BPSR and NACA.

During the meeting, Dr. Arabi commended NACA for its remarkable achievements over the years. Since its establishment, NACA has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, demonstrating unwavering commitment and resilience in addressing one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. Over the years the Agency has played a pivotal role in coordinating multi-sectoral interventions, mobilizing resources, raising awareness about prevention and care and implementing policies aimed at mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

He mentioned that Specifically, the Bureau would seek to work with NACA to Enhance Digital Governance, Strengthen the use of digital tools and innovations to improve service delivery, data management, and policy implementation in HIV/AIDS programs, Develop training and capacity-building programs for NACA staff on public service reforms, best practices, and process optimization, Support the implementation of performance management systems to track progress and ensure accountability in HIV/AIDS intervention programs, and Foster greater alignment between public service reforms and health policies to enhance institutional efficiency and service impact.

Dr. Ilori, in her remarks, appreciated Dr. Arabi’s visit and expressed NACA’s willingness to collaborate with BPSR in areas that align with public service reforms, particularly in strengthening policies and operational efficiency within the agency.

The visit marked a significant step towards fostering inter-agency collaboration in the public service sector. Both Director Generals expressed their commitment to working together to drive reforms that will enhance the effectiveness of public institutions in Nigeria. The engagement underscored the importance of partnerships in achieving national development goals and improving service delivery across government agencies.
