AccuBio Visits NACA, Reinforcing Partnership in Nigeria’s HIV Response

Abuja, Nigeria – March 21, 2025
The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) recently hosted a delegation led by Mr. Colin King, President of AccuBio, alongside Alhaji Majekodunmi Akorede and Mr. Kofo Ayodele. The visit served as a significant opportunity to create partnership between NACA and AccuBio and to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration in the fight against HIV in Nigeria.
Dr. Temitope Ilori, Director General of NACA, and the management team engaged in productive discussions centered on the critical aspects of Nigeria’s national HIV program. A crucial point of discussion revolved around the imperative need for robust External Quality Assurance (EQA) within the national HIV response. The pivotal role of EQA was emphasized in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of HIV testing and monitoring, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes. Recognizing the existing gaps in EQA, resources are being mobilized to fill in the gaps and improve the national HIV response.
The visit underscored the strong collaborative spirit between NACA and AccuBio, highlighting shared commitment to combating HIV in Nigeria. Both parties expressed their determination to work together to achieve the national goals of HIV prevention, treatment, and care. The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and a shared vision for a future where HIV is no longer a public health threat in Nigeria.
