Nigeria Launches National Data Repository (NDR) Database Analytics NAWS Platform
The Government of Nigeria led by Dr. Adebobola Bashorun, the National Coordinator of the National AIDS and STDs Control Programme (NASCP), and Mr. Francis Agbo (Director Research, Monitoring & Evaluation at NACA), representing Dr. Temitope Ilori, the Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Mr. Gabriel Ikwulono (Head of Strategic Information at NASCP) formally launched National Data Repository (NDR) database Analytics Workspace (NAWS) on 3 April 2024 in Lagos.
The GoN team was joined at the launch by PEPFAR, SACA teams in the South West zone, Implementing partners and other stakeholders.
The NAWS is a revolutionary software developed by Public Health Information Surveillance Solutions & Systems, (PHIS3) with GoN leadership and with technical and financial support from PEPFAR. It is a significant advancement for data-driven decision-making in the field of public health. The NAWS enables users to perform complex data analysis with previously unheard-of ease and efficiency by utilizing the power of the NDR database to produce custom analytics, including charts and dashboards.
This platform meets the various demands of academics, subject matter experts, and policymakers by providing a safe and intuitive environment for data analysis and visualization.
