The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) in collaboration with Dorcas Eunice Foundation, today successfully flagged off its World AIDS Day 2025 Community HIV Testing Campaign at LEA Primary School, Jahi 2, Abuja. The event marks a significant step in NACA’s continued efforts to expand access to HIV testing, strengthen community engagement, and accelerate progress toward achieving an HIV-free generation.
The DG NACA, Dr. Temitope Ilori led the flag-off ceremony, reaffirming the Agency’s commitment to ensuring that every community in Nigeria has access to quality HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and support services. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of early detection and encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the free and confidential testing services provided through the campaign. Also present at the event were several NACA Directors, whose participation underscored the Agency’s unified approach to community focused HIV interventions. Their presence highlighted the collective leadership driving Nigeria’s national HIV response.
The Community Chief of Jahi 2 attended the ceremony as well, offering his support and appreciation to NACA for bringing HIV testing services directly to the grassroots. He commended the Agency for prioritizing community health and assured continued collaboration to ensure the success of the initiative. The LEA Primary School Jahi 2 community welcomed the outreach team warmly, and residents participated actively in the testing exercise. The campaign aims to identify undiagnosed cases, link individuals to care, and promote greater awareness in line with the 2025 World AIDS Day theme.
Today’s flag-off marks the beginning of intensified community testing activities across Abuja and other locations as NACA continues to champion equitable access to HIV services and strengthen partnerships that encourage healthier communities nationwide.
