After relevant documents submissions and interviews, the Nigerian delegation to the 18th International AIDS Conference has finally concluded the process for obtaining Austrian visa and currently awaiting notice from the embassy to collect the visas.
Much preparation has gone into Nigeria’s participation at this biennial conference where HIV/AIDS stakeholders from around the world come together to share knowledge and cross-fertilize ideas. While Nigerian participants are encouraged to contribute research materials which should be forwarded to NACA for inclusion in the Nigerian exhibition booth, they are called upon to be actively available to man the exhibition stand.
Speaking about other conference arrangements, Dr James Anenih who is coordinating activities for the conference, stated that arrangements are underway to contact the Nigerian embassy in Austria to see about having a reception for the delegates and touring the city of Vienna.
Represented in the Nigerian delegation to the 2010 AIDS conference are a plethora of HIV/AIDS organisations in Nigeria including UNDP, ICAP, ActionAID, ENR and JAAIDS. Others are NiBUCAA, SWAAN, ASHWAN, NEPWHAN and APIN.
The 18th International AIDS Conference holds between July 18th and 23rd 2010 in Vienna, Austria.
